Brief Biography:

Zai-Sheng Wu received his PhD degree in analytical chemistry at Hunan University in 2008 and became a postdoctoral fellow in the Li Lab at McMaster University in 2010. His principal research interests focus on nucleic acid chemistry and biology. He has more than 40 publications, including 14 papers with the IF of above 5. He received the First Prize of the Natural Science Award by the Ministry of Education of China, the Michael G. DeGroote Fellowship Award by McMaster University, and various other awards. Three of his projects (in which he is either the leader or an important investigator) are funded by the National Nature Science foundation of China (NSFC). He is also often invited to contribute chapters to important books, submit articles to international journals and review manuscripts submitted to impressive journals.

  1. Construction of functional nucleic acid-based assay systems for disease diagnostics, biomarker screening, drug discovery and environmental monitoring
  2. Design of robust nucleic acid probes and DNA biosensors for mutant targets associated with genetic diseases
  3. Development and application of DNA nanostructures
  4. Nanobiotechnology and immunoassay
